In January 2020, the Delaware Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NC100BW-DE) partnered with the University of Delaware’s (UD) Partnership for Healthy Communities (PHC) and the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) to initiate a study about Black girls in Delaware. The Center for Research in Education and Social Policy (CRESP) at UD was contracted to conduct the study. The NC100BW-DE sought Delaware State University (DSU) Women and Gender Studies as a contributor of personal narrative papers written by undergraduate students under the guidance of Myrna Nurse, Ph.D, Chair. The study highlights the lived experiences of Black girls and adolescents to contribute to policy discussions that favorably impact Black girls in the state. Through a collaborative process, the group decided that focal topics in this study would be health, self-esteem, relationships, racism, school experiences, resilience, and social media use. The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. Delaware Chapter has embarked on a messaging campaign specifically designed to reach black women and families with culturally relevant messaging using a combination, earned media, out-of-home (billboards), social media posts and advertising. We used focus groups to create the messaging and shot all new creative to feature black women and their families in Delaware. NC100BW is a national organization. Our campaign is designed to Inform, Educate, and Influence our partners, and our communities, to protect ourselves and take action during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sisters Saving Sisters: Beyond the Mask is a NC100BW-DE initiative to raise awareness, provide resources and educate Black Women and Girls about overcoming and getting beyond COVID-19. This initiative is made possible by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. Delaware Chapter a non-profit with a mission to advocate on behalf of Black Women and Girls to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment. Black girls have a voice. Delaware is asking Black girls age 10-19 in the state of Delaware to take the survey and receive a gift card.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women - Delaware partnered with Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Southern New Jersey and Bergen County chapters of NC100BW to present the Money Coach to Black Woman in an effort to manage finances during COVID 19 Pandemic. It was met with much enthusiasm and the women received a lot of great information to apply to their lives.
